1 week programme carried out in Balestrad, Norway in association with Bergen Academy of Art – I was employed as seminar leader running site specific sessions as well as aiding the successful completion of the project.
Wood is an organic material. Essential for working and reworking this material is to recognise its growth, structure, different qualities and possibilities for processing. This is the starting point for the many unique opportunities inherent in the material. The first days of the workshop we will get an introduction of tree species, management, properties and processing. The workshop will be based on guidance and experience-based, practical tasks. During the course, participants will create spatial, experimental and structural constructions of wood from the site, which will interact with the landscape and climate.
